Coaches Outlook
Dear parents and swimmers,
As an Assistant Coach for the past couple of years in the Northview Community Swim Team Program, I have watched many swimmers grow in swimming ability and progress in accomplishments. This program is not about winning or losing, but preparing for life and striving for improvement as individuals and as a team. I want to maintain a strong focus on having fun while doing this.
One of my functions as a coach will be to build each swimmer’s passion for competition, which can be used for any sport. For swimming, I will teach swimmers that competition is not in the next lane or with the team at the other side of the pool, but that it is in each one of them. I will encourage swimmers to give 100% and try to beat their best time/s.
As for me, I swam for Northview Community Swim Team from age 6 to 13. In that time I had coaches that taught me all of the principles about competition above. In High School, I Varsity-Lettered 8 times in combinations of Hockey, Football, and Baseball. I have coached or assisted coaching in other sports such as Softball and Volleyball. I have volunteered my time for Basketball and Hockey at Northview also.
I am looking forward to coaching this Winter, as we all take on this amazing, yet challenging, experience together. Let’s have a fun season!
-Coach Jeff
Dear parents and swimmers,
I am extremely excited to begin this swim season. It is my belief that Coach Jeff and I have the ideas and commitment to make this season the best season of all. We will be collaborating together to make sure we use our practice time most efficiently, get the personal best out of all of our swimmers, and make sure the kids enjoy themselves. Swimming is a great sport; it is one that requires determination, self-discipline, and hard work. The personal benefits that come from joining a swim team like this one are vast. It is our job as coaches to make sure your swimmers discover each of these benefits. I am looking forward to seeing returning swimmers and welcome any new swimmers to the team this season.
